BRISBANE, 24 May, 2023 – After debuting at Phillip Island, Monochrome GT4 Australia is gearing up for Round 2 at Sydney Motorsport Park on June 16-18. Round 1 of the Monochrome GT4 Championship marks the debut of the long anticipated GT4 motorsports category in Australia.

Four sprint races at Phillip Island were done as a combined grid with Mobil 1 Australian Production Cars. Shane Smollen, piloting a GT4 Porsche Cayman 718 (Car #56), claimed first place in Round 1 of the Monochrome GT.

The new category, organised by Production Car Racing Limited, is quickly gaining interest - with both seasoned and up-and-coming drivers joining the 2023 Monochrome GT4 Australia Championship field.
Monochrome continues to support a number of drivers, teams, and race categories throughout 2023, across GT World Challenge Australia, Monochrome GT4 Australia, and Porsche Carrera Cup Australia.
The firm also partnered with UK-based racing team Bitcoin Racing for the 2023 Porsche Carrera Cup GB season. The team gained worldwide recognition when it was endorsed by the government of El Salvador - the world’s first nation state to recognise bitcoin as legal tender.

Sydney Motorsport Park, known for its challenging layout and high-speed straights, will set the stage for Round 2 of the Monochrome GT4 Australia championship on June 16-18.
